When you visit the website
Like any website, ours receives technical information from your device, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. Our hosting and security providers use it to deliver the website and protect it from abuse.
How we use it, and why we are allowed to
- To answer your enquiry. This is in our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us and running our business, or is a step you ask us to take before becoming a customer.
- To assess your trade account application, including any request for credit terms, and to manage our trading relationship with you. This is necessary to enter into and perform our contract with you, and we keep business and accounting records because the law requires it.
- To send you the newsletter you asked for. We rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our newsletter emails or by emailing sales@yektafoodsltd.com.
- To confirm that your form reached us. When you send an enquiry, apply for a trade account or sign up for the newsletter, we email the address you gave once to say it arrived. This is in our legitimate interests in letting you know we received it.
- To keep the website secure and working. This is in our legitimate interests.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who handle it on our behalf, and only for the purposes above:
- Resend, which delivers website form submissions to us by email, and the email confirming them to you;
- IONOS, which hosts our email inbox;
- Cloudflare, which every visit to this website passes through for fast delivery and security;
- minutes.agency, which builds and hosts this website.
We may also share information with our professional advisers, or where the law requires us to.
Some of these providers, including Cloudflare and Resend, are based in the United States, so your information may be processed outside the UK. Where that happens, it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum.
Cookies
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and the public pages of this website do not set cookies. A cookie is set only when our own staff sign in to the website’s admin area, to keep them signed in for up to eight hours, or seven days if they ask to be remembered. If Cloudflare’s security checks are triggered during a visit, Cloudflare may set its own strictly necessary security cookie.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: for as long as we need to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up.
- Trade account applications and customer records: while you are a customer, and afterwards for as long as the law requires us to keep business and accounting records, normally six years. If an application does not go ahead, only for as long as we need to deal with it.
- Newsletter sign-ups: while you are subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we retain your address and opt-out status so that it stays out of future mailing lists.
- Admin sign-in attempts: the IP address is kept for 15 minutes to stop password guessing.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To make a request, email sales@yektafoodsltd.com. We will respond within one month, and there is normally no charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
